Getting down and dirty!

What a lovely day it was today, beautiful and sunny, blue sky and no wind.  Just reminds me that spring is now only really around the corner.  We dug up the last of our carrots and marvelled at the size difference.  Why does some grow into gigantor and some remain mini-me like?

I found myself shovelling cow s**t today, out of the paddock into a wheelbarrow and then into tyres for strawberries. What a stink job! Literally! But I get very excited when I think of all the yummy strawberries that will grow out of it.

The wee one (Sophie) loves to play with worms or 'nakes' as she calls them.  Wants to cuddle them? and take them inside. Hmmm

The other not-as-quite-wee-one (Kaitlyn) is in her togs and gumboots spying out good size cow pats for me from her perch on the fence.  Also she has just learnt to ride a bike almost like her big brothers!

The boys are just playing and eating and learning how to be robin hood!

Such fun to be had in the sun!

This is us!

Firstly Hello world!  Phew!  I have finally made the decision to BLOG. I am so indecisive. Yes No Yes No...so finally I settled on YES, GO FOR IT!   So this is us, a normal family well as normal as you can get when you five children and home-school them. But then who is normal!! Mum, Dad three boys two girls, two cats, and seven chickens all in a house (well not the chickens) in the country.   I love it! But Remind me that every now and then especially when one traipses chicken poo inside the house, or someone brings half the sandpit inside or the cows break through the fence and ruin the lawn! We have fun, the kids make mess, LOADS of noise, fight and make more mess!  I stress, I yell, I cry, I laugh, I am happy, I cry, I ponder, I grump, and I love! (I have been known to make the odd mess)  (if you really want to get up my husbands nose then you leave used teabags lying on the bench along with empty packets of stuff)  I am quite good at that apparently!

Here is our tribe
Here is us as a civilised family!  I think we look relatively normal (don't you)?

Do you know how hard it is to get everyone looking at the camera, actually smiling, and eyes open, I think this was take number 8!

Well for now its good bye....my nice warm bed awaits along with my book...and my husband (Jamie) is probaby sick of looking at the back of my head!

So long for now!
