Not Feeling it....

You may or may not have noticed my lack of blogging of late.   To be truthful I haven't been feeling "it" lately. "It" being in a state of mind to be creative, to get things done, lack of inspiration, in a rut and/or any other reason you may have for not doing something.  Truthfully I can't clean properly if I ain't feeling it.  But once I feel 'it'...then look out I am on a roll!   So its been about 2 - 3 weeks of not feeling 'it' and after uploading some 178 photos (from 2-3 weeks) on to the computer from my camera I have realise I have missed out on blogging on some seriously cool stuff.

 Darn it!!!

So I am kicking my own butt and forcing myself to feel 'it'.

So I might just give you a quick rundown in colour of our seriously cool stuff and catch up on myself.  I will however leave out our Easter Celebrations and tell you about that next blog!

Ok lets get ready to ruuuuuuumble!.........

Thomas making his very own Bivvy after watching Bear Grylls make own!

I don't know if Bear would of had a saw handy but oh well.....
Even the brothers and sisters joined in to help!

Finished Product!
I am quite impressed this was still standing and intact after two nights of gale force winds in which we lost a bit of our roof!

There was two days of creativeness (and sawdust throughout the dining room)...

.....with a box of kindling!

Check out all that honey!
Poppa Peter came to harvest it and we have named it Puahue Gold!

And we harvested a whopping 110 carrots!

Father and Daughter on garden clean up duty. I just love the way Kaitlyn still has 'pink flair' even whilst gardening!

Its coming to the season for amazing sunrises. I will never ever get tired of opening the curtains to vistas like this.
Just simply beautiful!

So that's about it, very fast and very simple!  I regret not feeling "it" but oh well I am here now!
So until next time when I'll tell you all about our Easter celebrations...such a special time!
In the meantime please check out my sister in laws
 (from Budds1/see previous posts)
blog.
She has just started blogging and recording her adventures with her family of three girls (15, 12, and 10)  They are one of my most favourite families and source of inspirations!

Enjoy and see you soon!
Promise!

A Sweet Wee Girl turns 3!

They say that time flies when you are having fun.  Well I must of been having oodles amount of fun because I don't know how she got to be turning 3!  Its absurd I tell you.  She has been long anticipating this day, especially since big sister has had her turn. I have to admit it was a little difficult to keep up the momentum and energy for another birthday party, as the day before her birthday I felt awfully unwell.  I really didn't want to be ripping her off so all day I tried really hard to conjure energy that was hiding from me.

But her day came....at last!  That morning she rolled over and kissed me on the lips and snuggled in for her morning snuggle.   I opened my eyes and sleepily asked her "Good Morning, What day is it today?"  and she said "Tuesday".  Very clever little girl.  So I said "Whats special about today?"  and she gasped and said "Its my BIRTHDAY!"

Happy Birthday to you!!!  OF course there was nooooo lying around in bed after that. We were all up, bleary eyed and matted hair (precisely why I stay behind the camera) to watch her open her pile of presents.  Its all very exciting!

Check out this girls 'bed hair'

Clothes clothes and more clothes!

Could there be anymore pink?  Pink clothes, pink seat and pink lollies!

And pink tea cups!   Just right for two little ladies!

And again don't look at the sugar (she chose cocoa pops as her breakfast choice)
I love how the sun is shining on her hair and the balloon behind her, very angelic!

Sophie chose her own cake this year. Up until a week ago it was going to be a pink, purple and green fish but then it suddenly changed to a 'Pink Flower'.
Fortunately butter cream icing and I are much better friends than fondant is!  Phew!

Wee thing blew out the candles before we even had sung her 'Happy Birthday'
and then it took her seven goes to blow out them after we did sing it!
Thanks Grandma, Aunty Naomi, Uncle Joe, Uncle Dave and Aunty Tiff, Samson and Phoebe for coming to help celebrate this special girls birthday!
(its the great thing about having a big family, if only a few of them come you still have enough for a party!)

Sophie had a very special day. She had a whole day with her family doing the things that she loves to do. I love her so much, her smile, her kisses, her midnight cuddles, her sense of humor, her dancing and her beautiful spirit!
Thank you God for giving Sophie to our family!
She truly is a blessing!

Creative... Sisters

This has the potential to be embarassing. My two girls share a bedroom. Miss Kaitlyn (4) on the top and Miss Sophie (2) on the bottom.  Its a lovely room, two pinks walls and two lime green walls.  White curtain with big green and pink spots. White drawers with lime green handles.  It has the POTENTIAL to be a very very nice room.  There is one problem, my two girls are very messy creative wee things!  This is what I mean.

This can happen after a day, no, an afternoon of play.  They play 'Grown Ups' (I am the Mum and you can be the baby), they dress up, they change their clothes, shoes. Hop in and out of bed. Push dolls around in the pram and make up the dolls bed. Make piles of books and then read every single one of them!  They even get out the clothes that are put away that are too big and too small for them and try them on!  Hence the room gets very very messy!!   So every few days I get sick of standing over and through the mess, tripping over dolls cots and slipping on books. So I spend some time with or without my two daughters, tidying up the room. Having spent considerable amount of time over the years tidying the boys room, (fortunately they do this themselves most of the time now) I have notice that there are things that are unique to wee girls rooms.  In my boys rooms I can find sticks (for swords, bow and arrows), containers containing worms, earwigs, slaters and/or spiders, leaves, rocks and bits of wood hammered together to resemble....well I am not entirely sure.  So different are the things I find while tidying the girls room.

Here are some of the things I found that makes girls...well girls.

Collections of odds and ends uniquely to little girls include mirrors, anything that is remotely sparkly, special cards and 'precious' jewellery!

An extensive art collection (this is just one wall).
The painting of a flower on the right Jayden (then 6) bought at a youth group auction. He stuck up his hand and shouted out $47!  Needless to say he won it and bought it courteous of Mum and Dad.  It was the highest price paid for anything that night, everything else went for $5 to $10.

My little pony is having a bad hair day.

For me, this is the epitome of a little girls childhood!
A 'baby' in bed!

Kaitlyns most favourite shoes, her 'golden' jandels!

Sisterly love at its best!
Sharing a moments rest on the front porch!

Yes the mess gets me down and can make me a little grumpy. But I remind myself is that while they are doing all this playing, they are doing it together.

Big sister. Little sister.

Best of friends.
Helping.

Smiling and Loving
Simple.

“Sister. She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child.” Barbara Alpert

Cupcakes and Pink

Two little girls....both insanely in love with pink. Pink dresses, pink felts, pink flowers, pink toothbrushes, pink towels and pink gumboots!

Dressed in pink and celebrating pinkness...ladies and gentlemen I give you...I kid you not...

PINK
 BAKING BLING!
(aka Hundreds and Thousands)

So a batch of Cupcakes were in order. Quite fitting don't you think?

This girl LOVES to bake. Especially when sprinkles ..oh I'm sorry  BAKING BLING is involved!
I love that you can see pink icing on her cheek!
(note the sparkles on the dress!)

On a completely different note, we have had FOUR new additions to our family. Just to add to the 5000 plus bees and 17 chickens and two cats.

KITTENS!!

My husband is such a softy, he brought the food and held it up for the exhausted new Mama to eat and regain her strength.

He may deny that he even did that but that is sooooo his arm!  Mine are not that hairy.

So.
 Anyone want a kitten?
